Marriage flourishes when honor becomes a daily practice rather than a holiday performance. Hebrews 13:4 declares that marriage is honorable, while Ephesians 5:21–33 calls husbands and wives to mutual submission, sacrificial love, and godly respect. Pastor Woodson reminds us that dishonor can enter a marriage through adultery, lust, contempt, neglect, harsh words, or failure to fulfill covenant responsibilities. As he teaches, “Familiarity breeds disrespect,” so couples must never allow closeness to become an excuse for careless treatment. Husbands are commanded to give honor to their wives so their prayers are not hindered, and both spouses must protect the dignity of the covenant before God. Let this be the season when marriages move “from a struggle to a shout” through repentance, prayer, faithfulness, and restored honor.
