Your season of singleness is not a waiting room; it is an opportunity to build the character that can sustain your calling. Pastor Woodson warns that some people may carry a powerful calling yet fail to fulfill it because they never learn how to honor parents, leaders, employers, or spiritual authority. Romans 13:7 says to give honor to whom honor is due, while John 12:26 promises that the Father will honor those who faithfully serve Christ. This does not mean tolerating abuse or surrendering godly boundaries, but it does mean refusing arrogance, gossip, rebellion, and contempt. “Don’t let that Sunday school lesson get some of y’all fired” is a humorous but serious reminder that spiritual confidence should never become workplace insubordination. Honor God in your private life, your relationships, your work, and your church, and He will prepare you to carry the next level with humility.
