God wants children to love, listen to, and honor their parents. Ephesians 6:1–3 teaches that honoring father and mother helps life go well and is connected to the promise of long life. Honor can look like listening, speaking kindly, helping at home, showing gratitude, and obeying instructions that are right in the Lord. Pastor Woodson reminds us that honoring our parents should happen every day, not only on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. Children can also pray for their parents and thank God for the people who care for them. When families practice honor, their homes become stronger, more peaceful, and filled with God’s love.
